You probably didn’t tear bc you didn’t have drugs so your body had control of what it’s supposed to do! That’s also why you felt so good and aware after the birth

I totally related to the arc of your contractions and I too had a postpartum hemmorrage. I wonder if the two are related. If I hadn’t been informed and had a doula present I wouldve been screaming for an epidural by the time I was 3 cm.

I’m currently 39wks 2days pregnant and am determined to have a natural un-medicated birth. I’ve spent a lot of time reading stories like yours for inspiration and until I read yours, I still was not sure if I had it in me to do it. I love that you stuck by not getting induced. Women are getting induced too much, and with how you were coming along, I am surprised your doc was not more flexible. 8 days overdue is not a problem! I know docs who go 42 weeks easily and then you get non-stress testing….they are called midwives! But some docs are cool, while there are always midwives who are not, to be fair, just that midwives tend to be more into letting things happen naturally as long as everyone is healthy.
